Jessica Soho's program, 'Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho,' premiered on Nov. 2004
MANILA, Philippines – Jessica Soho is now Hall of Famer in the University of the Philippines – Los Baños Gandingan Awards after bagging her fifth consecutive win as Best Magazine Program Host.
The journalist and GMA-7 Vice President for News Program also dedicated the award to the viewers because, “Kung wala sila, wala ang kanilang suporta, wala tayo dito.”
The Gandingan Awards 2012 was held at the UP-LB on Saturday evening.
Soho’s weekly program, “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho,” was hailed Best Magazine Program.
In her speech, Soho advised students, “Sana unahin niyo ay ‘yung pagmamahal sa trabaho at ‘wag ‘yung paghangad sa pera o kasikatan, dahil ‘yung mga ‘yon should only be a consequence of real, honest-to-goodness hard work. At importante rin ang magkaroon ng integrity.”
Meanwhile, GMA-7's “Reporter’s Notebook” won Best Investigative Program and Best Investigative Program Host for Jiggy Manicad.
More, competing primetime news shows “TV Patrol” and “24 Oras” shared the Best News Program honor, according to separate reports on “Balitanghali” and “TV Patrol,” Sunday evening.
On the other hand, a short report on “TV Patrol” mentioned that ABS-CBN was proclaimed this year’s Best Development-Oriented Station.
The Gandingan Awards 2012 organizers told “Balitanghali,” “The broadcast industry has been very kind to us, has been very responsive in joining the Gandingan Awards.”
