THE entire country is abuzz, as filming for the upcoming Hollywood movie Bourne Legacy is underway at several locations in Manila. During the movie’s first shooting day at San Andres on Wednesday, 34 trucks carrying expensive equipment, and 400 members of the local production
team made sure that everything went without a hitch during the shoot. Aside from establishing shots of the city, filming involved a chase scene with lead actress Rachel Weisz.
As the Hollywood production goes about its business in a hectic eight-hour a day work schedule, rumors that Filipino actors Iza Calzado, Jericho Rosales and Sid Lucero might also be part of the Filipino cast. The reports are still unofficial, however, while veteran theater Lou Veloso, John Arcilla and Medeleine Nicholas have already confirmed passing auditions for small parts in the movie.
There is supposedly a confidentiality clause that prevents the artists from taking about their assigned roles.
Both Rosales and Calzado have had international movie exposures—Rosales in the recent movie Subject: I Love You, while Calzado was featured in the US remake of The Echo. Lucero, meanwhile, is a multi-awarded actor in local cinema.
All the same, producer Lope “Jun” Juban Jr. of the film’s local unit, Philippine Film Studios Inc. has said the local artists will have speaking roles and act alongside lead stars Jeremy Renner and Weisz.
