MANILA, Philippines — The Parañaque City government will resume enforcing the Unified Vehicle Reduction Program (UVVRV) or the number coding scheme as well as its truck ban on certain roads in the city starting Thursday.
The scheme was temporarily suspended but Mayor Florencio Bernabe feels there is a need to left the suspension because of the worsening traffic at the Bicutan Interchange of the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and adjoining roads.
Bernabe said coding schemes will cover the following streets: San Antonio Avenue, Pres. Aguinaldo St., Dominique Savio St., Michael Rua St. and France St. in Barangay Don Bosco; E. Rodriguez St. in Barangay Moonwalk, Doña Soledad Avenue and Doña Soledad Ext. in Brgy. Don Bosco; East Service Road from Dr. A. Santos Ave. (DASA) up to FTI Parañaque area and West Service Road from DASA up to Merville Park Subdivision Parañaque portion.
He said the UVVP bans vehicles with license plates ending in 1 and 2 on said streets on Mondays; 3 and 4 on Tuesdays; 5 and 6 on Wednesdays; 7 and 8 on Thursdays; and 9 and 0 on Fridays from 7:00 a.m. through 7 p.m. with “window hours” from 10 p.m. to 3 p.m.
