Kapamilya Stars head to CDO to help typhoon victims

WHILE most celebrities are in the thick of the Christmas rush, ABS-CBN Kapamilya stars Kris Aquino, Vice Ganda, Angel Locsin and Anne Curtis chose share their blessings with the families affected by Typhoon Sendong (international codename Washi) in Cagayan de Oro (CDO).

Kris, Vice, Angel, and Anne personally visited the typhoon-stricken barangays and handed out food, water, and toiletries to residents who have lost their homes, livelihood and even their loved ones.

“Even my house helpers joined us in the relief operations. They were up until 4 in the morning preparing our packed goods,” Kris related.

Vice Ganda expressed that it is the time for Filipinos to show compassion and to extend a helping hand to one another. He said, “We all know that many were devastated in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan. We have to do something. It would be heartless of us to spend time just Christmas shopping while knowing that there are other people in our country suffering.”

Angel and Anne further appealed to the public to take part in helping the victims of Sendong.

“We are not here just to show that we are ‘giving.’ We want to urge our kababayans to share their blessings especially now that its Christmas time,” Angel explained.

The four celebrities joined ABS-CBN Sagip Kapamilya’s Operation Sendong, which is continuously organizing aid for the families affected by the tragedy, whether in kind or in cash.

Donations like canned goods, rice, noodles, biscuits, coffee, sugar, clothes, blankets, mats and medicines can be taken to Sagip Kapamilya, ABS-CBN Foundation Inc. Mother Ignacia corner Eugenio Lopez St. Diliman, Quezon City; ABS-CBN Cagayan De Oro, Barangay Bulua, Cagayan De Oro City; and to ABS-CBN Davao, Shrine Hills, Matina, Davao City.
