MANILA, Philippines — The camp of actress Janelle Manahan Thursday sought for a Department of Justice (DoJ) protection due to the threats in the life of the actress after giving detailed statements on the murder of actor Ram Revilla that implicated the slain actor's sister Ramona.
Lawyer Restituto Mendoza, who stands counsel for Manahan, filed on Thursday a request for his client's inclusion to the DoJ's Witness Protection Program (WPP) as he believes that the life of Revilla's girlfriend is still in danger.
In asking for Manahan's inclusion to the WPP, Mendoza has taken into consideration the fact that suspect Ryan Montinola Pastera alias "Brian" remains to be at-large and can still pose threat to the life of his client.
"This is an urgent request of her family and from herself also because right now the Task Force Ramgen of the Paranaque police is temporarily securing her safety. We were informed already that as soon as she is admitted to the WPP, the temporary police detail will be replaced by agents of the NBI(National Bureau of Investigation) or whoever the DOJ will assign," Mendoza told reporters in a chance interview.
