Inaugurated

MANILA, Philippines — Justice Roberto Abad of the Supreme Court, Senator Franklin Drilon, Rep. Rodolfo Biazon and Prosecutor General Claro Arellano together with Mayor Aldrin San Pedro led in the inauguration of the new Muntinlupa Hall of Justice in Tunasan, Muntinlupa Thursday noon.

The Hall of Justice sits on a 1.3 hectare lot in Tunasan owned by the Muntinlupa city government.
It houses all regional and metropolitan trial courts in the city as well as the Muntinlupa Prosecutor’s Office and the Public Attorney’s Office.
In a message read for him by Court Administrator Midas Marquez, Chief Justice Renato Corona said the inauguration of the Hall of Justice is a celebration of “inter-agency coordination particularly in the justice sector.”
Corona said the building is a “living proof” of working together for a common goal.
He said there are bills in Congress that will create additional courts in the city.
He thanked the Muntinlupa City government, the Department of Justice (DoJ) and Congress for the completion of the Hall of Justice.
Muntinlupa’s courts used to be scattered in rented offices in different parts of the city, making it very inconvenient for the public.
Also in attendance at the inauguration were Muntinlupa City Prosecutor Edward Togonon, DoJ officials, regional and municipal judges and city officials.
