MANILA, Philippines – Carla Abellana has set the record straight for her non-appearance in the promo blitz for one of her Metro Manila Film Festival entries, “Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story.”
She began by thanking Governor ER Ejercito for his understanding of the situation.

When prodded to talk about the matter, Carla elaborated on the back story of the issue that involves Mother Lily Monteverde who was said to have stopped her from promoting “Asiong Salonga.” Mother Lily reportedly got mad by her non-disclosure of her movie with Gov. Ejercito.
“When I was offered the ‘Asiong Salonga’ movie, ang sabi sa amin five shooting days lang at saka pang-international,” Carla said.
“Technically, if you look at my contract with Regal, I am allowed to do one movie outside Regal every year. I-review natin ‘yung kontrata.
With this, she went on to shoot the movie, “not knowing na hindi pala naging malinaw kay Mother Lily that I was going to be part of ‘Asiong Salonga.’”
But all that is water under the bridge now.
On her sexy calendar pose for an alcoholic beverage, Carla said she’s not about to go sexy all the way.
“Ay hindi naman. We’ll see. Wala pa naman sa pIano.”
This public perception that she will level up her career by going sexier is something that “I guess nagkakasunud-sunod lang din kasi. Hindi ko alam but I’d like to  think na it’s an opportunity.”
The sexy pictorial did not affect her romantic relationship with Geoff Eigenmann.
Although she said “hindi naman sa nagpapaalam [ako about the sexy pictorial]” she admitted “pinapaalam ko” but stressed that, “I don’t ask for permission.”
Of her boyfriend, she said, “Pero hindi naman siya seloso.”
From the audience, a certain Erich asked Carla about her dad Rey Abellana’s reaction on her sexy calendar endorsement.
“Wala namang nasabi ang daddy ko. Hindi naman siya umapela or nagalit or anything. Walang negative reaction.
She said that there’s nothing to worry because “ako ang first-ever clothed na calendar girl” of the said liquor brand.
