Philippine Association for Teachers of Educational Foundations Midyear National Convention

MANILA, Philippines — With the theme “Internationalization: Key to Global Competitiveness,” the 2011 Midyear National Convention of the Philippine Association for Teachers of Educational Foundations (PATEF) is being held on November 25-27, 2011, in Puerto Prinsesa, Palawan.

The three-day gathering of teacher educators, administrators of Teacher Education Institutions (TEIs), basic education teachers, and other stakeholders in the field of education aims to give participants to trends, processes, and practices in internationalizing educational institutions for global competitiveness; enable participants to plan research possible for international publication and other actions to help improve one's institution to reach its target level of internationalization; provide a venue for discussing implications of internationalizing education to produce globally competitive citizens; and improve education across levels to meet international standards.
Topics to be discussed include internationalizing basic education; internationalization teacher education institutions: Framework, processes and practices; and conducting and writing research for international publications.
The PATEF midyear convention serves to stimulate interest and discussions on how our teacher education institutions can keep up with trends in their profession and the imperatives for achieving global competitiveness.
Conventions such as this allow the process of cross-pollination, whereby our local teacher educators and administrators of educational institutions and their foreign counterparts mutually benefit from coming together, sharing new knowledge and best practices to map out strategies to achieve global competitiveness in curriculum and program offerings, methods of delivery, and research.
We greet the Philippine Association for Teachers of Educational Foundations, led by their President Marilyn U. Balagtas, Ph.D., its Officers and Members, on the occasion of their 2011 Midyear National Convention. We wish them all the best and success in their endeavors. CONGRATULATIONS AND MABUHAY!
