FILIPINO-GERMAN Katharina Lehnert got her revenge against Jia Xiang Lu by beating the Chinese 3-6, 7-6 (4), 6-3, at the start of the main draw of the International Container Terminal Service Inc.

Lehnert was defeated by Lu in the semifinals of Week 1 last week.
“It was sweet, sweet revenge. I’m a bit scared in the first set but I adjusted well and eventually caught her off-balanced,” said the 17-year-old Lehnert.
Lu, who’ve lost to Thai Peangtarn Plipuech in the Week 1 finals started the game with crisp backhands but lost her momentum during the third set de to leg cramps.
Lehnert will face Ting-Fei Juan of Taiwan, who beat Shimizu Sakiko of Japan, 6-1, 6-3, on Thursday in the second round of the event.
Lehnert is the Philippines’ last hope after Marinel Rudas, Maika Jane Tanpoco and Tamitha Nguyen were all eliminated in the first round of the tournament.
