Juvic tied in 27th spot

MANILA, Philippines — After flirting at the cutline, Juvic Pagunsan showed why he is the country’s hottest golfer when he fired a second round four-under-par 67 to comfortably make it to the weekend of the $2 million Iscandor Johor Open Friday in Malaysia.

Pagunsan had shot an even par 71 on the first day and was on the cutline of the event which is currently at that number. But he easily bounced back, scoring four birdies against no bogeys at the Horizon Hills Golf and Country Club.
Pagunsan is hoping to put in a good finish to keep the top spot in the Asian Tour Order of Merit which he grabbed after finishing second in the rich Barclays Singapore Open where he won over P28 million.
Pagunsan is currently tied for 27th place with 138 with many others stil on the golf course.
The clubhouse leader is Sweden’s Daniel Chopra at 13 under on scores of 64-65.
