Globe Adventure

MANILA, Philippines — Globe Telecom and PUSOD Inc. will stage the first Globe Adventure Taal for Clean Water, a 50-kilometer adventure race, slated Saturday in Mataasnakahoy, Batangas.
The race will feature biking, kayaking and running legs in and around the Taal Lake basin.

Mountain Biking starts from the PUSOD Taal Lake Conservation Center (TLCC) in Mataasnakahoy, Batangas going uphill to Balete, Malabanan, Paligawan, Bulacnin, Tangway, San Salvador, Upa, and Kalamansian.
Kayaking in Taal Lake starts from TLCC going around Napayong Island and back covering 16km. The 9km trail run, on the other hand, again begins from TLCC running uphill to Kinalaglagan then heading downhill to Kalamansian.
Each team is composed of six members (three female and three male) with each discipline (kayak, run and bike) having at least one female partner. The event is open to all amateur athletes only.
Globe and PUSOD hope to raise funds for the establishment of a water quality monitoring system to ensure that the Taal Lake water quality will remain at Class B.
