Gabby addresses rumor Sharon leaving ABS-CBN

MANILA, Philippines - ABS-CBN chairman and CEO Eugenio "Gabby" Lopez III on Friday managed to dodge a question regarding Megastar Sharon Cuneta's reported departure from the Kapamilya network.


At the 22nd Philippine Advertising Congress in Camarines Sur, Lopez did not confirm or deny the rumors involving the network's prized "daughter."



"I don't know, maybe we should ask the other channel," Lopez answered, referring to TV-5.


There are speculations Cuneta might be the latest star to transfer to TV-5 after Dolphy and Aga Muhlach.


Early last month during her show in Europe, Cuneta finally spoke out and said she is happy working with ABS-CBN.


"So far, yes I'm happy with ABS-CBN," she said.


"I have no idea what's going on back home. I just got word from boss Vic (del Rosario) that he would like to sit down with me when I get home, something important has come up. Ang dami kong naririnig na mga tsismis pero wala pa naman akong nakakausap."


"At this point in my career, I don't see yet any reason to leave ABS-CBN. I love Ma'am Charo (Santos-Concio, ABS-CBN's president and chief operating officer) very much."


However, Cuneta admitted she is open to listening to other people who want to offer her more opportunities.
