Address job mismatch, educators told

TACLOBAN CITY, Philippines – Members of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Eastern Visayas region have been told to help address the country’s continuing problem of job mismatch and produce market-driven graduates from their institutions.

Leyte Gov. Carlos Jericho Petilla emphasized this in his opening remarks at the recently held Consultative Conference of Higher Education Institutions in Region 8, a gathering that was also attended by Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) Chairperson Dr. Patricia Licuanan.
Petilla called for collaborative linkages between the academe, the industry and government to create an effective bridging program to successfully match supply of graduates or skilled-workers from various educational institutions with the industry job requirements.
